A Little History on Mr. Stewart
Hello, my name is Rob Stewart. My wife and I and our three children live in Alma, WI. After graduating from Pepin High School in 1995, I decided to head to Winona State University to seek a career in elementary education and coaching. In 1999, I graduated from WSU after finishing student teaching at Burnside Elementary in Red Wing. I actually finished the 1999-2000 school year with two different long-term subbing opportunities at Burnside Elementary. The following year, I was hired as a third grade teacher at St. Charles. Although I thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity, the drive from Wisconsin was a little too much and I decided to apply for an elementary teaching position at Wabasha-Kellogg. Thankfully, I was hired as a sixth grade teacher, varsity girls basketball coach and assistant golf coach in 2001. After teaching one year in sixth grade, I made the move to fifth grade, where I spent eleven wonderful years. I continued to coach girls basketball for seven years and golf for thirteen years. It was also during this time that I decided to go to the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse to earn my masters in education and then back to Winona State University to earn my principal and superintendent licenses. In the summer of 2012, I was hired as the high school principal and activity supervisor. Although I miss having my own elementary classroom, I am truly honored to be the high school principal and activity supervisor for the Wabasha-Kellogg School District.
