The Basics on computing devices for the school year:
- Each year all 7th and 10th grade students (plus all 7-12 students new to W-K) can receive an amount, presently $150, toward purchasing a new computing device for school work at W-K for three years. The purchase must be made from mid-summer to the start of the new school year.
- The device can be either a basic model Chromebook purchased directly from the W-K School District, this device includes a three-year accidental damage warranty ($150 is taken off the final retail price) OR any brand of Chromebook/Laptop can be purchased from any retailer and then a copy of the purchase receipt needs to be submitted for a refund of $150 from W-K. It is suggested that a warranty is purchased for the device. Note that all refunds will be sent out at one time which will most likely be in late September.
- Students in grades 8,9,11 and 12 plus students in grades 7 or 10 who are not purchasing a new Chromebook or Laptop have the following options
- Rent a basic Chromebook from W-K for $55 (this fee includes accidental damage for the device for the school year)
- Provide your own personal Chromebook/Laptop.
- Starting August 5th the required paperwork and payment for renting or purchasing a Chromebook from W-K can be completed online using the JMC Online Parent Module. The device can then be picked up from the HS Student Services Office.
- A paper copy of the required paperwork will also be available at the HS Student Services Office or you can click here for a PDF version to print at home.
