Welcome to Wabasha-Kellogg Public Schools! I have the privilege to serve as the superintendent of schools. As I begin my second year with the district, I continue to be impressed with the students, staff, and the supportive community of W-K. Wabasha-Kellogg is committed to providing positive educational experiences for all students.
My work experiences prior to moving to the Wabasha-Kellogg area in the summer of 2023 include the Minnesota Department of Education, superintendent at Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City for 4 years, a 14-year principal, and a math teacher. I value the professional and educational experiences these opportunities have provided. As an educator, I am inspired by the public school experience and humbled to help provide positive experiences for students at W-K.
The two goals below represent the guiding principles for the school district. The school board will begin a strategic planning process to review and update district goals.
GOAL #1: To provide the best learning opportunities for all so that each individual achieves success.
GOAL #2: To create a positive emotional, physical, and aesthetic environment for students, staff, and the public.
In November 2023 the community overwhelmingly supported a building referendum to address deferred maintenance and facility upgrades. Planning and design are to be completed in time for the bid process in late October, 2024. The work is to begin in the summer of 2025, which is the reason the 24-25 school year is beginning before Labor Day.
